Hi there,
We just got a saltwater tank a few months ago. It is up and running with fish now and we noticed these weird eggs on the glass. I scrubbed them off but they keep coming back. Are they a parasite? Or some type of snail egg? A small baby snail has been found so it is possible some snails are breeding. They are on the glass laid in a line. When I scraped them off with this magnet some stuck to it. In the tank are
- Nassarius snails
- Babylon snails
- Turban snails
- Cerith snails
- I think margarita snails
- Astraea snails
We also have emerald crabs and skunk cleaner shrimp. Just picked up live rock from pet store because we wanted more, maybe a pest from that?

hi welcome to the reef going to love it here!!
lots of fun/info/fun/help/fun.... :)
@KJ @samnaz too hard to tell :)

Do they move? They don’t really look like eggs to me. It’s hard to tell because they are kinda blurry in the pic, but I’m thinking more flatworm or pod maybe.

No they don’t move. But there are super tiny little (the size of a hair) sized little things that are moving on the glass. Did they hatch from the eggs? Are they flatworms? Obviously my phone won’t focus on them, too small. Let me know what you think, thank you!

Looks like eggs of a Strombus snail(look almost like nassarius snails to me), the egg sack is about the same size as the Nerite egg, but it's clear and you can see multiple baby snails inside each just a white speck to the naked eye: that would be my best guess

Agree Strombus snail eggs.
