dupe4y6u.jpg

The lfs by me is getting really crappy lately it's called petland and I hope they didn't rip me off here please help!

If it has the Gold/Yellow coloration, then its a Torch. Its hard to tell what it is in that pic. It looks unhappy.

If I had to guess or put on our site from looking at the dead head, I would label it as Euphyllia glabrescens, Torch Coral...

well, it's definitely torch, but I don't think that was his question.

as far as it being a gold torch, gold is VERY difficult to pic up on camera IMO. my phone doesn't even see it, in pics my gold torch LOOKS like a normal torch or a brown torch when in reality it's bright gold. if it looks like it flouresces gold or yellow to you, then yes it probably is.. but gold torches with colored tips aren't very common, I've only ever seen them from one coral dealer..

edit:
it does kind of look like a cristata (grape coral) based on color.. but it looks like torch (glabrescens) based on tentacle and tip shape..

Also, Of yours does have the goldish orange then an appropriate price for a gold torch is about $125

The quality of the coloring seems to vary the price. Many places give the gold label to a torch when it does not look gold to me. I payed 50 a head for my gold torch. In my area that is a good price for true aussie gold torch. Had 3 when i bought now i have 5. The torch glows the electric gold in the tentacles when it sways. The lighting also seems to enhance the gold. With blue the gold glows more. Actinic makes mine look like it has lightning going through it.
