This guy has shown up in our reef tank. It is perfectly round with a rather frilly edge and moves pretty quickly and has no shell, bristles, etc. As the powerhead blew up the edges a bit, I could see what looked like a snorkel and a foot. I have searched invert databases and can't find
anything that looks like it. It does not seem to have the characteristics of a slug, apple or cucumber. Any Ideas???

Lucapina Sowebii - Fleshy limpet

Thank you all for your help. I believe it is a fleshy limpet (I was searching for a soft limpet and shelless limpets with no luck). I have searched with the new criteria and have found several pics which look just like this one. Seems they only live a few months, don't reproduce in aquaria and eat mostly algae. I guess I'll just enjoy it while its here. Thanks again!

Just an update on the fleshy limpet. It is almost a year later and it is doing just fine. I'm glad to learn that the information I read about their short lifespan was incorrect. I hope to continue enjoying this creature for a long time.

Good deal. Very cool.

Awesome!! Do you have any issues with the fleshy limpet and corals? My scutus would knock over all my corals even if they glued down.
