Help ID my fish

I bought this fish a few weeks ago from my LFS. I was sold it as a peppermint hogfish. But every single picture of a peppermint hogfish that i see they are a fairly bright red, mine looks identical, but is brown. Is it a different fish? Or is one sex red and one brown?

This is what I always see for peppermint hogfish. Mine is brown. Is it a gender thing? Or did I just get unlucky and get a brown version lol
