Hello! I got these sweet shrooms from a guy in a trade and wondering if I may have gotten a gem. These look a lot like forest fire shrooms, am I right??? Anything else y’all think it is?

Any ID is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

I have the same shrooms,
Very identical to the ones you posted.
Hard to tell in your original pic but if it resembles the ones you found online then it should be a forest fire.
I got a single polyp for 75$ from a lfs

Orange rhodactis with green/blue. Depending on where you buy or how, you'll pay crazy amounts, or purchase a rock of 20+ for 80.00 (sometimes less). As to whether or not it's a gem? That's all depending on how much you like them not what someone else prices them at. If they're worth 100.00 a piece to you then that's what they're worth to you. What they're worth to someone else depends on what they're willing to pay.

Oh and I have a rock of those with about 15 shrooms where some have bubbles. 5K for the rock anyone? Anyone?

+1 rhodactis - this is what mine looks like.

True. Maybe get was by the right term. But I got them for almost free and I thought they were worthless. Its kinda neat to find out they are worth something and are not just some random shroom. :D

Those will literally spread on your rockwork like wild fire. Something to think about before placing them. I gave one to a friend and in 8 months she now has at least 50. The more light the faster these ones spread.

Oh wow! Nice to know! Thank you!

FWIW, I’ve had mine for 6+ months. Probably close to a year. They just get really big and haven’t spread at all. But I will say, they are quite large and beautiful. I wouldn’t mind a few more of these.

I've found rhodactis a much slower grower for me as well but get large. Ricordea Florida and discoma spead very quickly.

Thanks for the info! These are slow growers. What does FWIW mean? Sorry, I’m not familiar with that abbreviation. :)

For What It’s Worth.
But honestly, don’t worry about these taking over your tank.
