Hey guys,
New to the hobby. I've been dealing with an algae bloom for the past few weeks, trying to figure out if its something I should be concerned about or not.
I only used a kids microscope, 300x for the first couple shots and 600x for the next 2. This was from two separate samples of long thin strings coming off of sand and rock.
Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0 Nitrates are at 5-10ppm at the moment. Noticed today that pH is low, dipped to 7.8~, usually is around 8.0-8.1. Haven't done a water change in about 2 weeks, was told by folks to try and just let things be and not mess with too many things at once
I haven't been feeding (only a small cleanup crew at the moment, 3 Margharita snails, 1 Turbo Snail, 1 Pincushion Urchin) for about a week, was told by LFS that they might be able to help clean up it up so should avoid feeding for about a week to see if they pick at it. They've moved sand out of the way but not eaten it at all I don't think.
Thanks for the help!
