New pest and zoas/hammer in bad condition

Hydroids but they are not the cause of your hammers/zoas bad condition.

Those things on the glass are Medusa hydroids and they are common in new tanks. They don't harm anything and will disappear on their own in a couple of weeks.

By the looks of your rock, this is a very new tank and that is likely the reason that your corals are failing to thrive. Your hammer coral is not one of the easiest corals to keep. I lost all of my colonies until my tank was at least a year old - - finally they are thriving now. I had the same problem with zoas for at least the first 9 or 10 months. Many people tell you that zoas are good beginner corals, but that was never the case for me.

For at least the first 6 months, stick to easy things like toadstool leathers, mushrooms, green star polyps and kenya trees for example. And don't even think about getting an anemone yet. After that you can start experimenting with more difficult corals, but don't try anything expensive first unless you are prepared to lose it.

Remember, nothing good happens fast in this hobby.
