I need some help identifying what type of algae or organism I may have come across my tank. It’s a brown fuzz on the glass and rocks. Feels slimy when touching and super glued corals tend to fall off when setting. Corals are fine it’s just a slightly issue. I currently have a 25W UV sterilizer at 700gph and 100g water volume.

Parameters and tank age? Does it get worse after the lights come on? Almost looks like dinos to me

Could it be diatoms perhaps? I use RODI water weekly 20% W/C.
Rock is not new, Filtration is skimmer, Carbon reactor, Rowaphos reactor, and filter socks

the glass looks like green film algae as for the rocks it has a little patch of bubble algae and maybe some turf algae or hair looks like turf to me but always get those two mixed up

Turf a;gae. Te first thing you can do is to reduce white light s or white intensity and number of hours of white light.
Add pin cusion urchins, ninja star snails and female emerald snails

Plan b is to remove rock and place in container of tan water and hydrogen peroxide and scrub with firm toothbrush OR automotive detail brush

The first pics show dinoflagellates and Cyanobacteria the second pic just GHA did you perform a tank cleaning?
The colour of your sps makes me think that your phosphates may be lower than your test is showing now

Thanks all for your input and feedback. After a W/C (20%), my normal routine for the past few years, including filter sock replacement, is adding Dr.Tim’s One and Only for 100g water volume and going skimmerless, sockless, reactorless, and UV less, after the W/C and scraping and filtering out as much “stuff” from the glass and rocks. Resuming this 48hr period, we will see if this has had any effect on my normal routine. I appreciate any feedback or input once again.

What are you trying to accomplish with this list?

Well my reasoning for this is to try to establish/reestablish a good bacterial population to keep the less desirable algae in check with good husbandry and regular maintenance. This is the only change I’ve done so far

That's not the way it works with bacteria and algae. Both can be present at the same time. How old is the tank? What are your parameters at? Tanks need stability, not changing everything because of a little algae.
