A coral(id guess mushroom), or a pest Aiptasia. It should open up soon I think. post another picture if or when it does.

It looks like it has four oval dots on it right ?

I bought it from a LFS and the greater majority of their rocks for sale definitely had mushrooms and different corals growing out of them

I tried picking one without any of that considering I don't have a light system for my two week old 30 gallon tank, just rocks and my one hitchhiker which is a black snail

so hard to tell here. I want to say mushroom. Live rock wasn't it?
yeah live rock, like the branch/trunk part coming out of the rock looks like a light brown, then it goes into the brown circle shape, and then there's 4 darker brown spots going in a circle... if that makes any sense or helps at all with my description lol i had a video but it wouldnt let me upload and it showed more clearly

Very cool. You'll be seeing some other good hitchhikers here soon too.

What are you going to do for light?

No sweat. It'll open up. Reefs are all about light... Once you get light on it you'll want to put snails in to start cleaning up the algaes and stuff. A couple crabs maybe too.

Id bet too if in the next couple weeks if you take a flash light to the tank at night you'll start seeing bugs soon. Thats a good sign.

And if you snap a clearer pic post it if not I'm sure it'll be out soon.

I saw a couple bugs already with my new rock ! And awesome okay thank you [emoji4][emoji1422]
