Hello,

While moving a few corals that fell to the bottom, I noticed some white fuzzy stuff growing inside a few of my rocks. I started to look around the tank for more, I found a bunch in my back chambers.

Are these sponges? Are they safe? I could remove the ones in the back chamber, but i can’t get into the rock crevices to remove the ones living inside the rocks.

Looks like a type of sponge. They often grow in areas that you wouldn’t think they would but being that they are filter feeders and not every species is photosynthetic, and area that receives adequate water flow is ideal to bring them food and carry away waste.
