Can someone help me identify what may be wrong with my Swallowtail Angel? She's got something on their side....perhaps a fluke? Appreciate your help. See video below....thanks!!

Welcome to R2R!
Please see attached thread so that your fish can get the help it needs asap. The video wasn't working for me.

I see Something hanging off it,hard to tell in the video but a close up pic to zoom in on would help a lot, might be worth a fresh water dip in case it’s an actual isopod

That's what I was thinking - but haven't done a freshwater dip before. Thanks!

Someone will chime in with more intelligence than me sooner or later
Surely if you catch him you’ll be able to see it up close and it’ll be unmistakable if it’s. Parasite

Yeah, sorry - just trying to get the hang of this site. Here is a close up, still hard to tell...

No need to be sorry. I was not trying to criticize. If it is not an external (singular) parasite - like an isopod - it could be a couple things. I agree with others - maybe try a freshwater dip. Does it look like 'an insect' sucking blood - or a growth from the skin?

Honestly, I've looked as close as I can...it may even be a scale that's flipped around. Not sure if I need to just wait that out or what....but I don't see a critter at all.

Love swallowtails. I've tried two and both died within a month. I don't lose fish very often but I'm not willing to try another one. Both died of some kind of parasite I'm assuming. They don't seem very hardy to me.

I guess then I would watch it - and consider a freshwater drip and hospital tank if ANY worsening - keep us updated

I have a pair of swallowtails, male and female. And they’re lovely fish. Also fairly hardy
How long have you had them? And I have seen a similar looking lesion that was the result of a scrape on a sharp rock. I would wait 24 hours and see what it looks like before I would do anything dramatic like catching it up and putting it through those stresses
