One of my zoanthids colony doesnt look good, some opens up all the way, most half way, and the rest never opened up for several weeks.

Iv'e been reading/searching for a week now, and I decided to go to peroxide dipping route,. So I dipped the colony tonight and didnt see unusual bugs other than few asterina starfish and bristle worms,. And a bunch of these little boogers...

I know for sure the asterina starfish bothering my zoas (I caught them red handed, already manually took out several dozens of them), but do these snails are one of the reason why my zoa doesnt open up?

Thanks

They're collonistas. They're fine.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear. Otherwise I won't be satisfied until I dipped all my zoa's. LOL

I'm guessing it was just the artesina starfish then. I already took out a lot of them, hopefully I see some improvements in a couple days/week.

This particular species of collonista seems to be very "popular" right now, as they are showing up in a lot of threads.

Do they get big, or stay small?

PS: I'll check your Hitchhikers link and see if I can find info.

Lol I told a friend I would put together a reef-warming package for him....these are going in there

The other night the lights didn't go on until a few hours after dark.... there were tonnes. Mine are too small to see, though. They're just white dots. Just be careful if you have an acrylic tank. Anything with a shell can scratch if you don't see it. I run my hand over my panel before scraping.

Their numbers get so high, you'd think oh oh... but I think the fact they mostly come out at night, makes it a non-issue. I've never had any trouble with them overwhelming pumps and I purposefully grew them to plague numbers in one tank.
