I picked this rock at my LFS. It has some nice stuff on it. Branching coraline, hairy mushroom colony, duster worms, red sponge, sps colony, and some button polyps (probably removing the buttons).

Name the sps hitcher

Steve
I am not see what you are referring to as the sps hitchhiker??

First picture, upper left just below the coralline. Its growing on the white part of the rock. Green mouths. These were hard to get large enough and make it clear. Very small round polyps growing on a thin mat.

I have a crap ton of that pineapple sponge growing...

Hard to tell from the pictures, but maybe a boulder star coral? They come in a lot of colors including greenish and red/brown.

I had some on my Gulf Live Rock, but they got covered up when I scaped. Assuming they're dead haha.

I am sorry but the image does not offer enough detail for me to even differentiate the unknown as either sps or lps. Are you sure it's a sps?
It looks like it could be Montastraea which I believe is a LPS.

Post #13 is indeed a sponge.

I'll try another pic now

Can you turn the piece around in the tank and take an image with the unknown more illuminated. Still looks like an LPS to me, could be a soft coral but it does not look like an sps to me. I only ask because you have requested an ID. :-)
