Just picked this up at my LFS and wasn't wearing my glasses and thought "wow, thats the largest Emerald crab i have ever seen".

Now that I'm home and got a better look its clearly not an Emerald crab and before i let it into my system I would like to know what we got here.

The shell is a little more than 1" from front to back. Color is grey/green.

thanks for the help!

I am not too great with Arthropods, but your crab appears to be a some species of spider crab (Majoidea sp.), which are said not to be reef safe. These include decorator crabs, which occasionally enter the trade.

It turned out to be a spider crab and yes to the bubble algae. I never let it out of quarantine and brought back to the LFS.

I’m sleeping better knowing that beast never made it into my system. ;)
