Found this creepy skeleton/shell. Never seen it before and Ive got nothing in my tank that even looks like this (that I know of) nor any food I feed my eels…

That's a red sea hand melter. You didn't touch it right?

Just looks like a shrimp shell to me, like a coral banded or the like.
I have coral banded shrimp and stuff in my other tank, molts look nothing like that. No shrimp or anything of the like in this tank as I have predators in there

A poor attempt at a joke since you had a bandaid on your index finger tip :)
Ooooh I see, forgot I have that. Almost cut my finger off a few weeks ago and its healing so it needs to be covered cause of the stitches and Im just so used to it on my finger now that I forget its there lol

Ouch! I filleted my right pinky half-way down a few years ago. I feel for you.
Ouch!!! Makes working in the tank a pain in the butt since I cant put that hand in the water. Especially this morning when Squirt my engineer goby toppled half my rock work! -.-

Mainly trying to make sure its not a freaking mantis shrimp or something horrible that will eat my fish

Looks like a crustacean molt of some variety - do you (knowingly) have any crustaceans at all in this tank?
No I have eels, triggers and lions in this tank, so no shrimp or anything. I do have a horse shoe crab, Ive found two of her molts intact. Could this be from her? Just doesnt look like her usual molts

That could be part of a horseshoe crab molt if the crab is big enough, but I’m admittedly not convinced.

Based on the shape, something more like a shrimp or mantis shrimp would seem more likely to me - so I’d probably keep an eye on the tank and see if anything pops up.

Yep thats what I was afraid of. Have heard popping but I have a pistol shrimp in a different tank
