Hi guys, I had a trochus snail get murdered by a hermit. The shell with red turf algae has been sitting there for a week a d today I noticed this green neon, 3-4mm stationary tube growing from it. Is this a tube worm? What do you guys think.

Thanks,

Hank

Looks like vermitid snail to me too. Not the worst thing in the tank I guess but I would take it out. I had a few make their way into my tank and I thought it would be good for a little more biodiversity for my tank but they became a problem eventually. Covered my rocks and would bother some corals after a while. Part of why I took my 125g down actually. I want to scrape them off all my rocks and restart things. Next time I will be much more proactive at removing them in QT.

Thank you kindly for this tip. He is out of the tank. After reviewing photos, you are right on ID.
