These came in as a hitchhiker and at first thought them to be a zoa, not sure now. Anyone have an idea?

I am not too sure. LOL! At first glace I say anemone. Will they eat?

I have had some dealing with Aptasia and the tentacles are longer than the pic... I read somewhere and someone can correct me that the aptasia tentacle are bigger/longer than the disc and the zoas polyps are shorter than the disc. This does not look like aptasia at first glance. Need more pics please!

My first guess would be an anemone because there doesn't appear to be any sort of matte, but it could be a type of protopaly. If you disturb it by touching it or hitting it with flow, does it close up like a polyp or does it retract into a hole in your LR? Regardless of what it is, I'd hit it with some kalk paste to kill it. The brownish/green protopalys reproduce so quickly that they're just as much of a nuisance as aiptasia.

It looks like a pest to me as well. Pull the rock or zap that stuff with a paste or something. I think its a zoatasia

I think it is a Paly, but one of the closest looking one to an anemone I have seen. It isn't aptasia or mojano. Imho

if you look at the ones in the backgrounds you can see how long the tentacles are, I would say its some form of aiptasia//rock anemone

Kind of cool looking with the long tentacles. I would keep it isolated though cause all my palys with long tentacles grow like weeds and can quickly take over. Not saying it is a paly for sure, just a few thoughts from trial and error.

I disturbed them for a moment last night and each polyp has a single base attached to the rock, no mat to be found. I guess you'd refer to it as a pedestal style base. So I'm leaning towards anemone now as well. I can't recall any of the paly's having this similar base. Don't have enough time right now to do the required research either. Tomorrow they'll get hit with Joe's Juice, has always worked for me.

Whatever came of these? I have something similar that I am trying to identify. I have had them for months and they have not been any issue to my system. Wondering if you had the same conclusion?
