Help ID what killed my sunrise dotty back

Hello all,

This morning I noticed my sunrise dottyback lying down sideways on the sand bed, breathing heavily. Also, his tail was missing. I have two clownfish, a scoops tang, neon dottyback, and a mandarin goby in the tank. Could any of these have taken it's tail off?

How big a tank? Have the Dottybacks been in there together for a while? I’m thinking the Neon Dottyback may be the culprit. They can get pretty aggressive and territorial especially to another dottyback.

thanks for the reply! It's a 120 gal tank, they've been living together for over a year. The sunrise dottyback has always been the territorial one, preventing fish from swimming through the rock. It was always hiding unless it was feeding time. I have seen them before chase each other but it seemed like the sunrise dottyback was definitely a bit more aggressive.

Neon probably got sick of his **** and murdered him.

Saw a neon beating the crap out of a 4 line wrasse (which are also bullies) at petco and an orchid killed a large damsel I had after living together over a year without incident.

Dottys are no joke when they flip a switch.

Let’s hope no one else meets their end.
