Hello fellow reefers. I am looking for some help today identifying my algae situation. This has been going on for a month or so and is taking over the sand bed and rocks. My Halloween crab killed most of my clean up crew so I have yet to replace what I once had (open to suggestions.) I have attached a video after a recent bed cleaning and water change. Your help and time is greatly appreciated. Tank is roughly 7 months mature.

I would clean the tank do a water change and reduce the light requirement. Also use shrimp they are the best cleaners. Check the nutrient requirements looks like the organic waste is high

Do you have a uv filter running? Had that happen once with that. Do you have fuge with chaeto? Fixed all my issues. That plus microbacter 7 and microbacter clean.

I have turned the white spectrum down and shortened the amount of time the lights are on. I have a peppermint shrimp but he’s never out. What other shrimp might you suggest. I need to stay reef safe. I don’t feel I feed excessively . 1 frozen cube a day.

clown fish ain't looking alright. is it doing good?
so much debris, are u using any mechanical filtration?
The clowns are great. They are transitioning right now so the white one is doing it’s little shake routine. There is a ton of debris cause I had stirred up the entire sand bed 5 minutes before the video. The filtration I run is is a filter sponge, chemipure and bio balls along with a aquamax protein skimmer.Filtration is difficult because it’s an AIO and the rear chambers are super small.

I have iv light spectrum on my lights that matches the blue intensity? No room in my setup for a fuge. I do run microbacter7 however I have been lacking on adding it. I added it today again along with my water change.

What size tank are you feeding a cube a day? No shrimp is going to help with what your dealing with. Do not stir up the entire sand bed all at once. Vacuum small areas to clean it up.

How many fish you have maybe excess food is causing it? Turn to half a cube a day or 1/4 in morning and 1/4 in evening. Use fire shrimp maybe and some snails might help too

Get some cuc and also idk if the sponge filters gonna help alot here. Seems it'd get pretty clogged pretty quickly then leach nutrients from rotting material which would feed algae... Heavy manual removal is required here and better filtration... Imo
