So I researched a lot I have a lot of experience but this has me a little stumped. At first I thought just plain-old hair algae but it is not as fine as the mass of hair algae I pull out of my main display and definitely not as dark green. It is a little thicker and grows more in stands then bunched hair algae It is a second tank I have and when I pull it’s base is really stuck to rock and yes the glass on bare bottom kinda feels like there is a root system. I was thinking some kind of caulerpa. Maybe common just never crossed this before myself. Any ideas and best ways to eliminate btw my nitrates are 0 and phos is .02 I know not ideal and probably being taken up by this and also only have one fish in right now tank is 8 months old

Hope this helps. Thanks
It looks like cladophoropsis the small runners like caleurpa indicates it will be, not familiar with any natural predators for this algae unfortunately, I would try and increase your nitrates with something like calcium nitrate and reduce skimming for a wile to see if bacteria would help to outcompete, if not you may be looking at a chemical option to try and eradicate it.

dang! looked at pictures you may be right. Also, not much to battle it also as you say urg!

Others may suggest you to remove the rock and hydrogen peroxide although by experience it doesn’t help with algaes with complex root systems.
