Help identify and get rid off it??

Hi guys. Need help with this. Not sure what it is and how do i get rid off it if it needs to.

Tank is 270galons
All parameters are normal

It has started on this rock and now on few others.

**edit** if it's just a sponge and you don't like it I hear they die with air contact or you can just scrub it off

Yeap. On the rock

Not sure what it is. It started small about 1 inch. It is now about 3 inches

Is it hard or does it peel off? Slimy?

+1 on the possible species of sponge, id keep them, natural filters.

Edit; if I were to guess, I would say mushrooms coming back from the dead.

just want to know what it is... because we seen few other places it is starting to show.. including on the sandbed
