Help identify and solve problem...

If you have algae, you have nutrients. Odds are it has something to do with pH, Salinity, or Alkalinity. Knowing those numbers, and how stable they are, would go a long way toward helping.

What is your water change schedule?

Hope this helps

There's certainly _some_ algae on that rock, but not the sort that looks like it ought to keep zoanthids closed up . . . Do you know what your parameters are? Salinity, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, alkalinity & magnesium?

Perhaps other members of the #reefsquad might have some thoughts...

We're throwing a bunch of possibilities at you, but remain calm, we'll get it figured out.

I'm going to go back to lighting. To me those pictures look awfully white. Now if you've white balancing, that would explain it. So again, what lights do you have, how do you have them set, and what size tank?

150 gal the light is from aquatic life metal halides 2x t5 and led moon light,

The only things I see that are even a little off are calcium (a tiny tad low, which really shouldn't be a major issue for zoanthids the way it would be for stony corals) and ammonia. There shouldn't be any at all ... but if you're using something like an API test kit, it's kind of known for low false-positives like that. Makes it difficult to know whether there's really any there or not.

Overall, I'd say your basic water chemistry is decent ... and the skimmer shouldn't be the issue here, either.

Ok cool so tonight I'm moving the coral to an area with more water movement. I had it at the bottom so I'm bringing her up halfway. I do feel my powerheads are not strong enough for my 150 gal. Btw Bruce thanks for all of your help I really appreciate it!
