Hello!

Recently got a new frogspawn and noticed this worm looking organism attached to the base but not sure what it is. It does emit slime when it isn’t happy, so not exactly sure what it is. Any insights would be appreciated!

vermetid snail. you can glue the hole, or scrape/crush the shell off. that's a chunky one

Thanks! Will probably scrap it off!

Looks mor like a large feather duster than vermetid snail. But if the slime is like a long strand that is getting pulled in after some time, it is a vermetid.

I scrapped it off, ended up coming off the plug. BUT then noticed the base of the skeleton was full of very fine long red (stringy) worms. Ended up excavating them out. (Maybe they were harmless but I couldn’t risk putting it back in my tank)

The frogspawn seems happier now (or so I tell myself).
