Over the past two months I have been having an algae outbreak. The tank has been up and running for over 1 year. I have an all in one 40 gallon breeder system that has treated me very well and I have thought I have treated the tank well. I started to have outbreaks about 2 months ago. I especially get outbreaks on days that I feed reef-roids, I assume its the influx of nutrients but not sure why the tank is not able to handle the feeding of the corals. I run a protein skimmer, small amount of ROX carbon, and GFO. The algae is easily blown off the rocks but is not stringy, only on days that I feed reef roids does that algae create small bubbles of gas, CO2 or whatever it is. Thanks for the help in advance!!

I've had it many times and it will most likely work itself out with proper tank maintenance. I tried chemiclean once and it worked great but about a couple months after use I got a bad dino outbreak. I would have preferred the cyano. Quick fixes are not always a good idea. While using chemiclean all my polyp corals closed up for a couple weeks and I lost half of a monti cap.
