Help identify plumbing part

Below is a picture of my return pump plumbing. Return pump, then check valve, then ball valve, and then vinyl tubing.

Can someone please tell me what the name of the part is that the arrow is pointing to? Thank you.

A male reducer I believe.

Appears to be a threaded reducer bushing and then a male threaded x vinyl adapter.
