Just went and bought a bunch of crabs and snails that seem to be helping some but can anyone identify what this algae is and what's the best way to get it gone. Thanks in advance!

Our peroxide way will beat it fastest, that strain of algae is highly receptive, all you have to do is lift out one test rock from the tank up top, wet the algae areas only with peroxide, hold in air cooking for four mins (won't hurt the rock or corals) then rinse and put back, not hand removing any to chart it's loss. In three days it is gone

If you like what the test rock does then repeat

If you wind up cleaning all the way down to the bottom rocks, while removed they should be siphoned clean up under them and siphon off the growths on the sandbed, simply hand guide the tank back to clean not via the clean up crew, but all by hand. The clean up crew resides in there for growback prevention, not removal, this simply removes the algae from your entire tank. If no direct work is desired, a host of water attack angles with wait times and variable results are avail

Looks like this brown hair algae I had with tank being new. I bought a few turbo snails and never seen it again.

Yeah the tank is fairly new. Only a few weeks old to be exact. The snails and crabs I have seem to be eating it. Just not fast enough. The only thing I hate about turbo snails in snails tanks is they seem to knock frags and small pieces of coral off the rocks. If I shut the lights off and cover the tank with a blanket so that no light could get in for a whole day do you think it would help? And also do you think it will hurt the coral going a day without light?
