Help identify this weird looking organism

I just noticed this ref looking thing on my toadstool. It's almost looks like blood patch

Please help me identify what it is.

I know this doesn't help, but with the coral, it kinda looks like a hedgehog face. Just said that to bump the thread.

Kind of looks like a photosynthetic sponge, though identifying sponges is an art in and of itself.

Ended up dipping it but found bunch of unwanted stuff on it. Unfortunately I had to dispose of it as it was the only coral that was not looking so well I couldn't risking all other corals to be infested.
