My wife purchased me a very pretty "mushroom coral" from a local fish store, my gut tells me its some kind of LPS but i'm quite new to corals and have just started getting beginner softies. I want to make sure this fella gets the proper care so any help and info would be much appreciated!

Your right its a lps, looks like a button scoly. Lower light placement. Mushrooms dont have any skeletal structure.

i've been hitting it with some frozen brine and I dose some reefroids bi weekly, seems to be doing well so hopefully I can keep it happy. Appreciate the help!

does look kind of like a acan do you know how much it was price would determine if it was a acanthophyllia
Just logging in today so sorry for the late reply, she said she paid $60 for it. Treating as a scoly for now, the corals gorgeous and thriving so I’m quite happy with it!
