Help identifying coarse, green branched algae

I've searched and searched R2R for other examples of this nuisance algae I've been battling for the past 6 months, but no luck. It grows into long, thin, branched strands and feels coarser than GHA. It doesn't have the feather-like tips I'm used to seeing with bryopsis. The stuff is completely avoided by snails, but I have an urchin and chiton that (slowly) pick at it. Hoping to learn more about it and possible ways to treat it. Thanks

yeah it's different than the green stuff to the left. that seems more like a classic GHA or turf algae to me. guess i'm good at growing all kinds of algae

Not saying they are but looks just like roots . Something you'd expect to find in the sand bed .

it is like roots, you're right. here's my attempt at a better pic. the mystery algae is on the left. at the bottom, you can see where it was anchored on the rock.

for comparison, some turf algae that I plucked is on the right. that stuff is also avoided by my cuc, maybe cladophora?
