Help identifying mystery algae!

can anyone tell me what this purple fuzzy algae is and how to combat it if it's trouble for the tank. It's been growing on equipment and rocks and is difficult to scrap off.

Wouldn't mind knowing that myself - it's growing on my powerheads & uprights, and the kole tang and blennies, scrape as they might, can't seem to remove it. (It's not really on my rocks, but I suspect it's the parrotfish who keeps them so clean . . . )
