Help Identifying This Filtration Component?

Hi everyone, I'm new here so hopefully I don't break any posting/etiquette rules!

I was on another website and saw some images of someone's filtration system for an 11,000 gallon shark tank. I'm a bit of an equipment nerd but I can't figure out what these tall, clear cylinders in the attached image are supposed to be?

My first guess was something to do with protein skimming, but there doesn't seem to be any venturi pumps or collection cups/pipes?

The owner doesn't know anything about his own system, so he wasn't much help.

Any insight is appreciated, I'm keen to learn more about how these big reef tanks are filtered!

Good question! I'm certain it's not anything to do with skimming. The lower tubes may be for visual indicators of flow? Not seeing the top of the longer upper clear tubes this is as much of a guess as the lower ones but maybe level indicators? You might try contacting sharksupply.com

They might be 1 way flow valves or check valves
