First I would like to say hi to everyone, I’m new here and this is my first forum so bear with me.
I have found what appears to be a tube worm on my hammer. It appears to be irritating the hammer.
any help in identifying this creature and if it’s ok for the reef or not would be very appreciated.

Welcome to R2R.. Great First Post... Sorry you had to make your first post this one. But with that being said you can see that it is a awesome place for answers and a lot of great people in here.. When the crisis is over put up some pics of your tank would love to see them... Good Luck

I cut as much of it off as I could with bone pliers and then shot the area with a laser in case some worm was left behind to possibly grow back.
