Found this stony Sun Polyp looking like piece attached to in inside of my overflow box. I used to have sun polyps about 6months ago but I wasn’t able to keep them alive, they slowly shriveled away. I attached it to a disk with glue. It pretty much stays closed with the lights on then opens up at night. Could it be sun polyp?
Sorry for the clarity of the pictures but that’s the best I could do with my phone.

Nice score- Its a dendrophyllia coral requiring very low light and water flow and a very expensive specimen
Feed phyto and mysis shrimp

Great thanks, I googled the name I never had this species in my tank. Amazing how this just attached to the inside of the overflow box and was growing.

Because it favors low light areas
It’s a beauty

If you kept a sun coral before then it's almost certainly a planula larvae from that colony settled in your overflow box. I have lots hidden in mine too. It looks like it's been there a while too as it's grown extra heads, it must have been catching plenty of food to be able to thrive. It could be Dendrophyllia but if you've never kept that species before it seems unlikely. Nice find whatever it is. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
