Hey anyone know what type of algae this is?

thanks! Hopefully this vibrant solution starts to work soon. Currently about to start week 4 of dosing. This crap Is literally over running my tank.
Hope you don't take it the wrong way but to me that looks awesome (I know it's horrible) but it looks so natural.looks like a natural tide pool. If they didn't smother corals and cause other issues id let my tank get over run, great nutrient control too.

I get what you are saying it does look very natural. For me it’s just too much, especially when it’s everywhere. This is beginning week 3 of Vibrant.

Are you doing any manual removal? That would greatly speed the process up. Remember when things get this bad we are the biggest cuc member the tank has.

Ouch -
Sea hare will help greatly otherwise Astrea, turbo grazer and conch.
Lower white lighting a little and increase water flow

I was trying to see any experiment to see how much work vibrant would do without me manually pulling. Plus this algae is a pain in the butt to remove. It’s really gripped onto the rocks. Since I’m quarantined now I’ll do a water change tomorrow and maybe try to see if the algae comes off easier

Yes I don’t know why but this happened after I had a massive snail die off. Still don’t know why it happened but all of my astrea snails died over a course of a week. The water parameters are fine and my clown fish just started to spawn.

The easiest route would be pulling the rock out scrubbing as much as you can off with a stiff brush and spraying it with h2o2. It will get rid of it quick. Just don't do too many rocks at once and monitor your nutrient levels as there will be alot of die off.

after die off, nitrates likely elevated and if filtration is inadequate, could not keep up with load. Add liquid bacteria to help calm this down also.

what’s your phosphate reading at? lowering the phosphate will make green hair algae & bryopsis easier to pull off.
