Help Iding What's on my Zoa?

Can you help me identify what is on my Zoa? I recently acquired this frag. I dipped it in Coral RX and tried to remove what looked like a bit of hari algae. There are whisker like projections coming through the base of the Zoa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's hard to tell from the photo bc it's blurry when I zoom in. Are they green? Is it coming from the paly or from sponge in the plug? Again it's hard for me to tell but maybe it's algae?

It's coming through the sponge on the Zoa. There is some hair algae arouond it but these things seem wire like.

Could be hydroids and/or algae.

Not a big deal.

Hydrogen peroxide dips.
20% H2O2 (the one from pharmacy, 3%) and 80% tank water in a 10oz container, for a minute to start.
Make sure you've got another 10 oz of tank water to rinse it off before bringing the plug back to the tank.

I have a Coralife fixture I got when I purchased the tank. Looking at getting a new light for Christmas. Any recommendations?

Ok let's start over what's your setup ? Tank size also what kind of reef you are keeping mix or sps or lps ?

i have a 90 gallon. I plan on keeping LPS and Zoa's mostly. No SPS.

And what's the size of the lights you have now ? I run Ai sol LEDs mix with ATI 4x54w t5 fixture
ATI blue+
ATI coral+
ATI purple+ x 2
Over my 75g but I'm addicted to sps. But that's just to give you and idea of what you need.
But since you are not keeping sps you don't need that much light like I have you can go all LEDs or get a better T5 fixture.

4 bulbs will keep them alive and well, depending where you put them in the system.
6 bulbs will be much better though!!
I've got 6 bulbs over my 75gal.

The 10.000Ks and actinics are fine.
You can change the actinics for Blue Plus bulbs and get better PAR.
That way you'll get more out of the bulbs for the polyps, once it's a 4 bulb fixture.
Make sure you change your bulbs every 12 months or so...
