Help! Is this normal for a Duncan?

I just got a Duncan a week ago, first few days he was doing great. But yesterday it completely closed up, today it’s tentacles are completely retracted and it’s mouth is open.
Is it dieing

please help.
Water parameters are all in check, only 10 point down on calcium so I added a little bit.

is it normal?

no, its not normal.
The polyps are hanging down, is there any flow in the tank?
The rock also looks pristine, how new is the tank?

Nitrate and phos are all norm.

I actually just put a newer piece of live rock in…. It’s 8 months old.

I moved it up to the part to get it to off sand because I thought that is what was going on. It being irritated

Like the mouth part why is it so open? Water flow is good, should I put it in a higher flow area? Less light? More light? Idk

You say normal but what does that exactly mean. IMO if you actually measured it you would have just posted your actual measurements.

Normal for someone who does not know what it’s supposta be could be off.

This is in one of the corners of the tank, I only have two clowns and a watchmen 50 gal

Soft and lps corals require some nitrate and phophsphate in the water. Most new reefers think 0 nitrate and 0 phosphate is what is needed

You say normal but what does that exactly mean. IMO if you actually measured it you would have just posted your actual measurements.

Yes I would say 0 nitrates will be a problem corals need some trace of it to feed off of. 10-15 is a good range for soft and LPS corals

Yes they do say that and I think that is because 10-15 is very low compared to what it could be if not watched. For more mature tanks many years old and depending on the corals you will want even lower. But new tanks need little more

Okay well thank you so much for that because I legit clean it every week and check and have even ordered nitrate stabilizers so I can get it to zero.
What should phos be for corals

This was one of my issues when I first started. In my head I had it that both needed to be 0 took me many years and many dead corals to figure this out
