My tank is now running hyposalinity and ive done several water change

I Just bought seachm alert and the reading color is close to alert (or i dont know wether is safe or alert color). If its reading alert, how much percentage water change should i do now? Within days or weeks?

And my 2 tangs rapidly breathing with only 1 gill, other gill is completely closed, some other fish is rapid breathing too. Is this related to ammonia? Considering i already point my wavemaker to surface for more O2 20230820_192817.jpg

I am unfamiliar with the alert badge thing you are using, so unfortunately I can't say from that.

The fact the fish are breathing heavily and improperly is a huge red flag.

You say you are running hyposalinity. Why?

First thing I would do is adjust the salinity, slowly back to normal.

How long has the tank been up and running? Ammonia should be a non issue.

How long have the fish been in the tank?

The list of variables here is a long one. We need a LOT more data to properly help diagnose what's going on.

Hyposalinity can sometimes cause a spike in ammonia in tanks where there were a lot of algae in micro animals that die off. Keep at eye on it, and do you have another way to test for ammonia? Maybe you pet store could?

The badges often look like that when lit from the front. Have you got a total ammonia test kit? If this is a display tank, it’s likely not related to ammonia.

Get a better test kit! And why are you running hyposalinity?
