Help- jawfish has shell stuck on lip

It has been a few weeks. My jawfish has a piece of shell looped onto his bottom lip. He can still eat fine but I worry about the wear on his lip.

He is also dang near impossible to catch and if I do get him, how would I even go about getting it off?

This is a first for me. Not sure how you could get that off easily.
