HELP... Lavender Tang Issues

Hello all! I bought a lavender tang about a month ago and it ended up getting some sort of eye infection. I have been treating it in a QT for about 2 weeks now with KanaPlex. But now he has dark discoloration from his head back to his mid body. The fish acts normal and doest seem bothered but I am concerned. Any ideas on what it could be?

Oh, that doesn't look good. I'm going to page the experts, @Humblefish @melypr1985 @4FordFamily, but I would think some sort of additional antibiotics would be necessary.

I agree with antibiotics but that poor fish looks badly affected. Most tangs I see in that shape are afflicted with velvet..

It's hard to tell at that stage because the gill damage discolors them like that, sometimes they don't even show spots.

Did you treat with copper or CP?

Yes I did. I thought I caught the illness early. Tried antibiotics and copper treatments. Sad to say all have failed. [emoji20]thank you for all your help!

Give that fish an acriflavine bath (if possible) and then treat with this combo of antibiotics: Kanaplex + Metroplex + Furan-2

Agreed with the antibiotics. That looks just awful. If you aren't already, then I would be adding vitamins to his food as well just to give his immune system that extra little boost.

Live brine and live blackworms are great options to keep the fish eating, if it is still. Red nori would complete the "trifecta" of feeding success for this fella. If it doesn't eat, the fish is a zombie.

Lavender Tangs are one of the easiest tangs ive dealt with, they werent treated right from the start.
If you want healthy Lavender, let me know, i get them myself so i control start to finish.

Have you seen stringy poop? It might have internal parasites...
