Hi all,

Purchased a LTA a few days ago and it wont attatch. Ive buried it, turned off flow, tried pvc, it will just not stay put and keeps rolling around the tank!! I'm afraid of losing it, any tips? Thank you (: Tank is about 5 months old, nitrates stay a little high around 20-30 but other than that all parameters are good. NICREW HyperReef lighting 50W on an Evo 13.5 gallon tank.

Being a new tank it will be difficult to keep an anemone. What are your tank parameters? What was your acclimation process for the nem? Light type?

LEDs. I drip acclimated the nem for 2 hours and light acclimated over 2 days.
Salinity - 1.025
Phos - 0-.25
Temp - 77
Alk - 9.5
Calcium - 550

They like deep sand. 4 plus inches.

Evo 13.5 gallon
How much research did you do before your purchase? No anemone would be satisfied in a tank that small, especially not an LTA. They need very deep sand and often get over a foot in diameter, I have one that got to 16" daily. Did your LFS sell this to you? I would question their legitimacy if they knew you had a tank this small.

Would it not take years for a nem only about 1 1/2" across to outgrow this rank? I have Hammer coral larger than this nem. I have done much research and seen many nems in nanos, my lfs even has nano nem tanks.

No less than that. In 3 months my lta went from 2 to 4. It was doing great till tank maintenance pumped ph and made it upset. For what its worth mine liked low flow

I believe so, red foot
The red foot is a poor identifier sadly, many species have red feet (including some BTAs). If it's really that small it could possibly be a Condylactis, but I would need pics to confirm. Condylactis also get pretty huge, mine is about 10" across and got that size in a few months from 5".

Lower tyhe amount of flow towards tank bottom as it may not have that opportinity. Yo can also place it in a container with a lid that has holes and place it in container with rocks for a few days and it should attach

Just for reference how fast a nem can grow. The the left is now ~8-10" on right is when I bought the nem in August when it was ~2-3" in diameter. They can grow quick.
