Hey i found a Overflow that i wanted to build for my 15 Soft tank.... I made it and once the siphon starts its fine works great. But once the power goes out it wont self start..... ( Reason why i picked this one.)

But when i start the flow it will PUSH water into the drain side. It should "suck" the air out and start the siphon.... So im trying to find out how to make the return work right..... SO Would a airline Check valve work or .....what would you do?

Anyone please !

Im trying theses out in a bucket first fyi

hmmm..... Might be thinking of closing the return and intake self priming thing.... I just realized i need venturie type fittings... thats why it wont self start.

Or i could leave them in place and add another air fitting lower so i could move the return side down lower to fill. And run a aqua lifter up top to suck out the air..... IDk if this is gonna work. Love the idea of having a small drain inside the tank but hate the idea of a flood more..........

Might have to go with a Nano Overflow. Wish i would have drilled this tank......

Ya need the airline running to a powerhead to restart the siphon for you. By simply filling the tube, its not enough to get the air out. Or like your thinking, put the aqualifter on top and run the line right there.
