My tank has been up a whole 45 days. Iv upgraded pretty much everything. Started with mostly live rock and some Florida mined rock (was thinking the vast holes would be great for pods and such to thrive in the DT). My tank is a 24 gallon AIO with 3 gallons being the rear sump / filter area. I have a reactor, skimmer and an area about 1.5 gallons just for cheato / algae refugium. The set up works well and the refugium grows cheato. The cheato was slowly being overtaken by algae so I pulled it and put a screen in. In 2 days I had a full layer of algae started. While doing this I got a massive hair algae outbreak in my tank. Now I'm on a mission to make some changes to get this at bay once I get ahead of it. I do realize the tank is new and likely just going through the aging process. I started with live rock, dirty water from another tank, Florida crushed coral and Tim's. I pretty much cycled in a week. Diatom came and went with in the end of that week. Parameters were almost too perfect because I couldn't get and phos, nitrite or nitrates. I slowly added a few fish into the 2 week till now. I have a few softy and LPS frags in as well. Parameters ar nearly perfect. (I assume that has a lot to do with the algae). Over the last week the algae has really taken over.... .

So to the the origional question. What lights should I add or remove to help prevent algae down the road. I'm handy so I shouldn't have any issues with replacing led's. I've got a galaxy hydro Chinese black box. I did turn off all but blues for the last 3 days and wrapped the outside of the tank. I realize this isn't a true blackout but I wanted to see if the Cuc would have a chance to catch up and see if the algae would slow down. The algae still spread. But it was a much lighter algae. And was a bit easier to brush off where before it wouldn't brush off at all. The algae before was brown and green hair algae I've been told. .I'll include a picture of the lighting per the manufacturer. Really looking to build the optimal light for LPS heavy mixed reef with 1 or 2 sps and some softies.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated

I agree with @saltyfilmfolks, that light has everything you need spectrum wise to be highly successful. Your tank is young and the "nasties" will pass in time.

Keep your water pramameters in check and you should see things turn around in time. Patience will get you there. Trust us.:)

Appreciate it guys. I wasn't sure about the reds and greens. But I know the light seems to have a very good following.

Little update

Tank is now doing great. I pulled the white Florida mined rock shortly after this post. I added liferock in its place and it pretty much cured the issue. I have another buddy who has the white rock and is still battling algae. My tank cleared up quick once the rock was out. My coral are growing great with this light. Coraline is now growing very fast as well. I built a canopt to hide the light and very happy with the setup.
