hey guys,

I am thinking about getting a media reactor to run carbon or cheato more effeciently in my AIO. I was thinking i could pump the water from the rear sump area of my tank down into my cabinet where the reactor will sit. It will then obviously travel back up to the rear of the tank. I was hoping to use about 5-6 feet of tubing total just so i have plenty of extra. I have heard good things about the Cobalt MJ pumps but im not sure which one i need. I understand the head pressure and that a pump can only push soo far but im not sure how that applies when traveling downhill then uphill. I plan to instal a simple ball valve for flow adjustments inline. Should i just get the MJ1200 to play it safe? Or can i go for a smaller one?

Thanks!

I would just go with the MJ1200 with a ball valve on the output side to dial in your flow. They aren't that expensive and you might even be able to find a used one locally or in the selling forum here on R2R.

Ya thats what im thinking. Should the ball valve go between pump and reactor or reactor and the return hose? Does it matter?
