Help me choose my lighting!!

Ok so I am building a 7' x 2' x 16" deep reef. I am knocking around all lighting ideas. Kessil 360 is high on my list, with them I will add some T5. I have also thought about going MH T5 combo. Planning SPS heavy mixed reef with open rockwork as this will be a peninsula build and viewable from 3 sides.

I am planning on going with t5 with some sort of led supplement for my 4'x2'x16" . It seems to me that my coral do better under t5's but just seems like something is missing that the leds provide. I might go with some stunner strips not sure.

I have the Kessils and am happy with them but I have no SPS. Check out the new Kessil AP700

I also have Kessil's above my 120 and I am very happy with them. I don't have SPS or LPS buy plenty of softies and GSP.

I read an article that stated led do not produce much radiation compared to t5 or mh. To get adequate radiation from led the intensity has to be turned way up and this is why led is considered harsh.

Since metal halide is on your list that's the way to go. Nobody can argue about metal halide being superior. If you want the led pop you can always add stunner strips or reefbrites to it.

I may look into MH then and add led supplementation. What wattage MH would i need with a tank of that dimension? I would think i could go with lower wattage since the tank is shallow. I bet MH and kessil would look great.

If you want metal halide. Look into the reefbrite mh/led hybrid fixture. I have them and love them. I may be selling 1. Pm me

I'm in the process of starting with 1 inch frags and seeing how they grow under Hydra 52s. ....

if you're serious about Kessils, i have 3, 360we's. goosenecks, 90 degree adapters, link cables, and apex cable. 4 months old, still have the original boxes and everything. message me if you're seriously interested. sure we could make a deal.
