Help Me Choose Some Equipment!

I'm actually relatively crafty, so I'm going to try my hand at modding the AC 70! It looks like a fun little weekend project.

So, as far as the skimmer goes... If you had to choose between the Hydor Slim Skim (48-65 gallon) or one of the CPR Bak Paks, which one would be better for a 36 gallon tank?

CPR bak pak. I had one that skimmed well. Don't get the one with the bio floss

Modded AC70 should work well as a fuge.

CPR Bak Pak, consider it done. I don't know what I'd do without you guys!

Probably have a crappy tank. : /

If you end up using an hob fuge I recommend switching the stock pump for something with a little more kick as the stock pumps are not great and tends to make the water a bit stagnant

I also agree on the HOB CPR Bak Pak, and I would if the money is there grab an MP10es , if not a Koralia 750 would work out perfect for a Tank that size. As for a HOB Fuge, you can do the Aquaclear Mod especially if your good with your hands. If not this small fuge should work out perfect for you.

I also would recommend a DIY Skimmer with a wooden air stone since these are proven to be effective and a smarter choice and cheaper option than a CPR Bak Pak- You're only working with a 36G which IMO don't need a skimmer just water changes. But check out this DIY skimmer out of a water bottle

Good luck with the new set up. I'm too new at this to help you out but I'm gaining some good info myself.
Tank, thanks for posting that vid. I'm not happy with my skimmer and I was thinking of making something like that. I'm kind of picky about looks in my house but in a sump in the cabinet it should work. I'm planning on using a pump though and make it a bit larger.

I personally have a 75G and love the Reef Octopus skimmer, a lot of enthusiasts around here use the same brand as well.
I may even have 2 Hydora Koralia Evolution 750s for sale if I end up upgrading to a MP40.

How much would you sell them for if you were to sell them?

I'll definitely keep it in mind! Let me know closer to time if when you're ready to sell them.

There's someone in my city who has some lightly used ones for sale for $20 each... but I'm not sure if they're the 750s or not. If they aren't, I'll definitely keep yours in mind!

Will do, most likely within the next month or so. Like I said they're a month old, work great but I would like to have even more flow in the 75G.
