I have a 72x18x24 tall mixed reef. I am currently running a DIY LED with 2 T5's. I am not getting the best growth or color on some of my corals. I am thinking of upgrading my lights, what do you guys think?

I am really all over the place right now after doing some research. I have narrowed it down to metal halide+t5 combo (worried about electric bill here) or manufactured LED's looking at 3 Kessil A360WE or 3 Radion Gen 3 (non-pro).

What do you guys suggest?

Really thats crazy typically you would do fine. Some people believe t5 is the best way to.go. but for color intensity leds is. I havnt had any experience with halide. But my led is plenty bright and works well

i have taotronic leds which are pretty cheap on the pocket and i love them... i want to add a couple T5's to my tank and i would be 100% satisfied (currently)... maybe just switching out your LEDS? a DIY LED seems sketchy unless you really know what your getting yourself into... i wouldnt do a DIY on LEDS - but thats me

The LEDs I have are made by a small company and aren't really DIY. I think the issue is the LEDs don't have optics.

I have a radion pro (gen 2) and it grows SPS well without sacrificing color quality. I'm currently planning on adding two gen 3 pros to my up and coming build.

The hardest part with these lights will be finding the right settings to bring out great color and growth, so don't be disappointed if it takes a couple of months to dial in right.
