Here’s my plan.

Water mixing station in the Garage. I will have a tank of RODI and a tank of Salt Water.
I’m planning on using the Profilux 4 to control my ATO and AWC.
I plan to have a Maxi in the Garage and one near the tank.
Maxi pump 1 will be the ATO feed
Maxi pump 2 will be the AWC feed
Maxi pump 3 will be the AWC waste drain.

Now the problem, I am planning on using a Kalk mixer to dose kalk with water from the ATO. Basically, a doser will feed RODI water from the ATO container. As it feeds water through the mixer the overflow effluent goes into the sump. The problem is: How do I feed or split the ATO feed line allowing one side to add regular RODI and the other to feed the Kalk mixer. I want to control this process... some how.

1 option, I can run 2 lines one for RODI and 1 for the Kalk. Or, 2 electronic valves.. but I am open to any other suggestions or ideas.

thanks.

I'd keep it simple and use two Maxi pumps from the ATO. This eliminates potential valve failures, and only needs two controlled outlets instead of three (one Maxi and two valves).

@foxt - I Tend to agree. Use the other maxi pump head if your going to do both ATO and Kalk.

Are you going to control the Kalk based on PH?

Yep, that‘s the long term plan. Initially Kalk will get dosed as the main supplement. As I gain coral growth I’ll kick in a calcium reactor and the Kalk will be dosed to get the PH where I need it.

Just not sure if the Maxi pump can be precise enough also trying to avoid running another waterline through the attic.

The other problem is in order to move the water the distance I need it to go I should have the pump at the source. That would mean putting my pumps at the tanks. My tanks will be approx 50ft away with a 10ft vertical head pressure.

Ok, I understand the picture better now. Another option then would be to use two peristaltic and run two lines of 1/4" tubing from the tank to your inside location. The beauty of a peristaltic pump is that you can locate them inside and pull water from the tank so you are more likely to keep an eye on them.

Peristaltic pumps can push or pull water long distances with lots of head. You don't need fancy expensive pumps, I can usually find a good quality pump+head for maybe $50 on ebay.

If that turns out to be too costly, then you could use one peristaltic pump and two very high quality solenoid valves at the inside location. I'd still want to figure out a way to make sure I was alerted if the valves fail though ... you are only pushing RO water and good valves should be reliable in that case, but you know how stuff happens!

I should have also mentioned, rather than having to run two lines, you can run one from the tank to the inside location and then tee that off to the two pumps ....

50 feet distance including a 10ft rise is pushing it. The max recommended distance for the Maxi is 50 feet. I would look into the peristaltic pumps @foxt mentioned and plug those into a dedicated powerbar at the mixing station.

thanks, I’ll look at things as they unfold.. I’m probably under 50 ft total. I’ll have a good measurement when I run the lines.
