Help me identify this piece of equipment!

Is this an old media reactor? It came with a used tank I purchased a while ago, and I've been trying to figure out whether to save it or get rid of it. I can't find any manufacturer information on it.

Its not a reactor but rather a skimmate locker which is attached to overflow of a protein skimmer to collect waste and when full- that little ball will rise and stop the flow before it runs onto the floor

Thank you! That makes sense and explains the single inlet. I thought maybe it was missing some plumbing.
