Was at LFS was going to trade in couple Neon Trumpets and the owner noticed some free floating things which I have always had but never seemed to really grow in size. They seem to love to attach to new plugs. So there in my system I am just not sure what they are.

Literally they detached from plug on 5 minute drive. Got home and shook them in cup tank water and more started floating.

So they detach with a shake, have noticed them come off when dipping in coralrx, even got them on new plugs from vendors before.

They are not an infestation at this time.
Please help identify.

To me they may be some type hydroid but do those detach when rock or plug is shaken?

Was question of Aiptasia but I know what those look like and these are very small and never seen Aiptasia this small or go to free floating.

HELP please you should be able to click image and usage photobucket to zoom in

Sea spider of some sort? Although in that last picture there is a more uniformly rounded one that doesn't look the same as everything else in the cup.

has stalk like anemone, tentacles

You know I see them and the way they float I think of dandelion seeds floating. Only way I can describe.

They are clear and will stand up once settled just like a polyp. Some kind filter feeder.

The picture in the cup where it is floating the stalk is on bottom and tentacles on top ha ha dandelion

Ok I am losing it tonight

That is what I was questioning? Don't have the medusa look(had those before and verified on your page) and stay put until I shake the frag or glass. Has a foot the grabs on then release when shaken.

These are small. Just incase they are in my biohazard container :)

might help

That's definitely looks like hydroids. It's just a different type...... like Tubularia.

humm interesting. So are these a bad version in anyway. Guess I need to do some dipping of frags they are on. Wondering if they are irritating some of my zoa. Like I mentioned not infested just now that LFS pointed them out I will be trying to limit their #'s and keep an eye on things
