Long story short: My 4 hydra vega’s broke down. I sent it to get repaired by hydra, and they couldn’t and are now offering me any light for 40% off. I thought my lights were hydras non HD, but they said they were equivalent to the hydra 26.

my tank is 300 gallons. It’s pretty long, but not heavily stocked at all Soft corals, LPS (very few), and anemones.

I need to buy a new light. I prefer hydra because that’s what I’ve always known andI like their lights.

going with the 26’s would be cheaper, but would it give me enough coverage if I only went with 4 26’s?
Or should I get 4 hydra 52’s?

Hydra 52 HD’s are the best, especially for a tank your size. There are several recommendations for multiple primes or 26’s over 52’s but if you prefer bluer (14-20+k) the 52’s provide more power. If you run all channels at 100% then 26’s would work but you would need 6-8. Btw I’m an sps nut, so I look at lighting from an sps keepers perspective.
